Sunrise by Ian Osborne took out the open class on this yr’s Australia Day Photography Competition, showcasing South Gippsland at daybreak.

SOUTH Gippsland photographers just lately had the possibility to seize the area’s finest options and landscapes within the 2026 South Gippsland Australia Day Photography Competition.

Two standout pictures took the highest honours in two separate classes, the below 15 award and the open class.

South Gippsland Shire Mayor Nathan Hersey and Deputy Mayor Brad Snell filmed a presentation video, saying the winners and acknowledging the sturdy response to this yr’s theme, ‘South Gippsland, our home.’

The under-15 award went to Stephen Rawling for his picture, Nature’s fireworks, Bottlebrush.

Cr Snell credited all of the younger photographers, saying it was “so amazing to see the interpretation of South Gippsland through their lens.”

In the open class, Ian Osborne claimed first place together with his picture Sunrise, topping the checklist of a packed subject of entries.

Council stated greater than 80 photographs have been submitted altogether.
