Divers Conclude Weekend Keep at Virginia Tech Invitational

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – James Madison diving wrapped up a three-day keep on the Virginia Tech Invitational contained in the Christiansburg Aquatic Center on Sunday.

The weekend started on Friday with the 3-meter board, the 1-meter board befell on Saturday and platform diving occurred on Sunday.

3-Meter Board

• Three Dukes positioned within the championship remaining of the 3-meter board, together with redshirt junior Natalie Jones who scored the second highest prelim rating. In the finals, she scored 281.70 to complete in third and was adopted by senior Maddie O’Mera (280.50) in fourth place. Sophomore Emma LaFountain scored 233.05 within the finals.
• In the comfort remaining, freshman Valerie Hardin completed third with a rating of 219.50. Sophomore Juliet Wells completed sixth with a rating of 198.20.

 
1-Meter Board

• Jones earned her second third-place end of the weekend, scoring 274.85 within the championship remaining of the 1-meter board. O’Mera scored a 233.65 to complete fifth and Hardin completed seventh with a rating of 217.95.
• With a rating of 243.50, Wells completed second within the comfort remaining, whereas LaFountain completed fourth with a rating of 232.15.

 
Platform Diving

• In the prelims of the platform, Jones completed fourth (163.60), Hardin fifth (153.20), LaFountain sixth (147.10) and Wells seventh (119.65).

The divers might be again competing on Feb. 18-21 after they be part of the swimmers in Greensboro, N.C. for the American Conference Championship.
