Tigers Win Each Relays on Day One in all SCAC Championships

Thanks to a first-place end within the 200-year medley and 800 freestyle relays, the Colorado College males’s swimming & diving staff is in first place after the primary two occasions of the 2026 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Swimming & Diving Championships on the Garland ISD Natatorium.
 
CC captured its second consecutive 200 medley relay within the meet’s preliminary race. The foursome consisting of Sam Allen, Andrew Colgan, Liam McCarthy and Dax Sherwood posted a time of 1:31.07, the fifth-fastest time in meet historical past and good for 40 factors. The Tigers’ ‘B’ staff of Logan Loveday, Zach Harris, Stephen Kim and Edmund Davis positioned ninth in 1:34.52, good for 18 factors.
 
The Tigers then captured their first 800-yard freestyle relay title since 2013. The quartet of Davis, Sherwood, Loveday and Allen completed with a time of 6:48.48 and picked up one other 40 factors. CC’s ‘B’ staff of Carter Hagenauer, Mark Lofye, Connor Fredericks and Miles Nordling positioned ninth for 18 factors.
 
“I was encouraged by our two event wins and a lifetime best from senior Edmund Davis leading off the 800 free relay,” head coach Jen Buffin stated. “That relay was two seconds faster than we were a year ago, which shows the progress this group has made. The energy on deck tonight was strong, and I expect us to keep building momentum and get better each day of this meet.”
 
CC is in first place with 116 factors, adopted by St. Thomas in second with 82.

The SCAC Championships proceed on Thursday with 4 extra occasions. The preliminaries start at 9:30 a.m. (MT), adopted by the finals at 5 p.m. (MT).
