Explore photobooks from the ICP Library and join with fellow photobook lovers at ICP’s Photobook Club. Each month, browse hand-picked picks from particular company and ICP neighborhood members. This session of Photobook Club is hosted by Claudia de la Torre, a Mexican, Berlin-based artist, educator, and impartial writer whose work sits on the intersection of printed media, conceptual publications, and set up.

About Claudia de la Torre
Claudia de la Torre is a Mexican, Berlin-based artist, educator, and impartial writer whose work sits on the intersection of printed media, conceptual publications, and set up. Guided by the e-book as each kind and concept, she examines the relationships between floor, construction, and which means, exploring what a e-book can turn out to be as an inventive medium.
In 2011, she based backbonebooks, an impartial publishing home conceived as an extension of her inventive follow. Since then, the platform has produced 95 titles and editions thus far, devoted to publishing and conceptualizing artist books as artworks.
Since 2021, she has led the Artists’ Books Workshop in her studio, collaborating with creatives who want to develop their concepts in e-book kind. Through a process-based, conceptual, and collaborative strategy, she seeks to open new views on what a e-book will be and the way it can function throughout completely different contexts.
Most not too long ago, in 2025, she was awarded First Prize by Fundación Ankaria for her artist e-book The Waves, recognizing her ongoing exploration of the e-book as a performative and conceptual object.
Her work is held in main worldwide collections, together with the Thomas J. Watson Library on the Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York), the Faber Birren Collection of Books on Color at Yale University Library, the Joan Flasch Artists’ Book Collection on the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Museum of Modern Art (New York). She repeatedly participates in e-book festivals and exhibitions worldwide.
