Implosion date set for shuttered Eastside Cannery in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — An implosion date is ready for Eastside Cannery on the Boulder Strip.

Crews will demolish the shuttered casino-hotel at 2 a.m. Thursday, March 5, in accordance with David Strow, a spokesman for Boyd Gaming.

This won’t be a public occasion, Strow stated, and there will probably be no public viewing areas across the property.

Boyd Gaming confirmed again in October that it was in talks to promote the positioning for residential use.

“It has been more than five years since we closed Eastside Cannery, and there is not sufficient market demand to reopen the facility,” the corporate stated within the fall. “Given this, we are finalizing plans to demolish the building.”

Located on the nook of Boulder Highway and Harmon Avenue, Eastside Cannery opened in 2008 as a substitute for the getting older Nevada Palace.
