Ladies’s Basketball Journey to Johnson C. Smith Wednesday, Concludes Common Season at Livingstone Saturday

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- The Winston-Salem State University ladies’s basketball crew will journey to Charlotte, North Carolina, taking up Johnson C. Smith University on February 18. Tip-off is scheduled for five:30 p.m. inside Brayboy Gymnasium.   

The Lady Rams will conclude the common season touring to Salisbury, North Carolina, taking up Livingstone College on February 21. Tip-off is scheduled for two:00 p.m. inside New Trent Gymnasium.

Series Information vs Johnson C. Smith University  

This would be the 2nd match this season between the Rams and Golden Bulls. Last time the Rams defeated Golden Bulls 59-41 on January 29, 2026. 

Series Information vs Livingstone College 

This would be the 2nd match this season between the Rams and the Blue Bears. Last time the Rams defeated the Blue Bears 76-60 on February 10, 2026. 

New Coaching Staff:

WSSU ladies’s basketball enters a brand new period beneath the management of Coach Tierra Terry, no stranger to the CIAA as she was the pinnacle coach at Virginia Union. Coach Terry can also be a graduate and former participant for Winston-Salem State. She added coach Jessica Freeman and Dylan Anderson to her workers within the low season.

 Ram Returners:

The Rams introduced again seven returners from final 12 months’s squad: sophomore Alana Biosse, junior Zion Dixon, and seniors Kierran Walker, Alexandria Warren, Jakaiya Mack, Chloe Williams and Jahmaria Miles.

 Ram Newcomers:

During the low season, WSSU welcomed in 9 newcomers: freshman TaNiya Simms, Kloe Thompson, Taylor Simpson, Breonna Roaf, Amari Kilgore-Baldwin, sophomore Ah’Kiyah Pye, junior Neveah Farmer, senior Makayla Waleed and switch sophomore Maia Charles.

CIAA Preseason/Polls:

The Lady Rams have been chosen to complete seventh within the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) preseason ballot.

Jakaiya Mack was named to the preseason crew.

CIAA Weekly Awards 

• Ah’Kiyah Pye was named CIAA Rookie of the Week for week three. 

• Breonna Roaf was named CIAA Rookie of the Week for week 4. 

• Ah’Kiyah Pye was named CIAA Rookie of the Week for week 5. 

• Makayla Waleed was named CIAA Defensive Player of the Week for week six, whereas teammate Breonna Roaf was named CIAA Rookie of the Week. 

• Maia Charles was named CIAA Player of the Week, whereas Amari Baldwin was named Rookie of the Week for week eight.

• Maia Charles was named CIAA Player of the Week, whereas Ah’Kiyah Pye was named Rookie of the 

• Week for week 9.

• Breonna Roaf was named CIAA Player of the Week for week 10.

WBCA Coaches Poll

The Lady Rams have been ranked 18th within the WBCA Coaches Poll this week. 

Last Time Out

The Lady Rams defeated Shaw University 78-40 on February 14. Makayla Waleed led the Rams with 18 factors, adopted by Kierran Walker chipping in with 14 factors. 

Scouting Report:

The Rams are led in scoring by Maia Charles, averaging 13.0 factors, adopted by Makayla Waleed with 11.2 factors, and Nevaeh Farmer with 10.0 factors. WSSU is averaging 67.1 factors per recreation. 

Johnson C. Smith University (7-15, 4-10 CIAA, 1-7 South) 

The Golden Bulls fell to Fayetteville State 73-61 on February 14. La’Niya Simes leads the Golden Bulls in scoring with 12.2 factors per recreation, adopted by Salote Franklin with 11.4 factors per recreation. JCSU is averaging 55.9 factors per recreation. 

Livingstone College (6-18, 5-8 CIAA, 3-5 South) Play Shaw (Feb.18)

The Blue Bears fell to Claflin 43-42 on February 14. Breasia Colt leads the Blue Bears in scoring with 13.3 factors per recreation, adopted by Jasiyah Crawford with 11.4 factors per recreation. LC is averaging 64.1 factors per recreation.
