KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – No. 1 Men’s Swimming and Diving secured its eighth podium end of the competitors and third gold medal on day three of the 2026 SEC Championships following record-breaking victories from Nate Germonprez within the 100-yard breaststroke (49.92) and Hubert Kos within the 100-yard backstroke (43.86) on Wednesday night on the Allan Jones Intercollegiate Aquatic Center.

During the 100-yard backstroke prelims, Hubert Kos broke a 13-year-old facility report held by SwimMAC’s Nick Thoman (44.07), touching first in 43.87 to advance to the championship last. Will Modglin additionally secured a finals berth with a time of 44.16.
