Cambridge, Mass. – February 19, 2026 – Highlighted by a gold medal on the 3-meter board by Christian Butler (North Haven, Conn.), the Springfield College males’s swimming and diving group opened competitors on the 2026 New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday night time contained in the Zesiger Sports & Fitness Center Pool.

Springfield leads the pack of seven faculties after the primary day of competitors with 105 complete factors – 61 of which got here from the three divers. Behind the Pride is Babson with 91 factors and host MIT with 89 factors.

Butler, competing in his third NEWMAC Championship meet, claimed his fourth gold medal and fifth total medal as he’s the two-time reigning convention males’s diver of the yr. In three NEWMAC meets, Butler has gained gold all three seasons on the 3-meter board. Tonight, Butler produced a rating of 530.47 for the title – a rating properly above the regional qualifying mark.

In addition to Butler, Tyler Khongkham (East Hampton, Conn.) recorded a 3rd place end for a bronze medal with a complete rating of 405.77, whereas Andrew Testa (North Attleboro, Mass.) completed sixth with a rating of 378.52 to spherical out the diving highlights this night.
