Photography Club to be Featured in Meaford Hall Galleries

There is a small group of native photographers who’ve been quietly clicking away then coming collectively as soon as a month for the previous ten years to share their pictures, they usually have lastly determined to step out and share their work with the general public.

An upcoming gallery present at Meaford Hall, beginning March 3 and working till May 4, will function the work of ten Meaford Photography Club members. The present’s title, Through Our Lenses, refers to each the digital camera lens and the photographer’s eyes, based on membership spokesperson Helen Solmes.

“Each member sees the world differently,” she stated. “Through Our Lens will showcase ten unique perspectives that reflect the curiosity and creativity of the individual photographer. The show will be an impressive medley of non-traditional work that just might challenge a viewer’s preconceptions, as well as traditional genres such as landscape, wildlife and farm animals, still life, architecture, and street life, but always from the photographer’s unique perspective.”

Solmes stated that the membership started as an outreach program on the Meaford Public Library.

“The club started as a Meaford Public Library outreach program. Today, it operates independent of the library even though the club’s monthly meetings continue to be held at the library every second Tuesday of the month,” stated Holmes. “Ours is a very supportive group. It’s no secret that photography is a passion of mine. It’s such rich experience expressing how I see the world through my photographs. The experience is tenfold more amazing when shared with this group of creative photographers.”

The membership will host a gap reception on Saturday, March 7, 5 – 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to affix in and meet the photographers. The Meaford Hall galleries are open Monday to Saturday, 10-4 p.m., and through reside performances.
