Women’s Swimming and Diving Closes Final Day of Competition at Big Ten Championships – Penn State

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Penn State Women’s Swimming and Diving completed the ultimate day of the Big Ten Championship at Jean Okay. Freeman Aquatic Center.

The Nittany Lions had three swimmers and one diver advance to finals over the course of the championship. On the ultimate day, Margaret Markvardt earned a spot within the 200 IM C last.

Markvardt’s sturdy efficiency earned her first place in her warmth, putting seventeenth total with a 1:58.41.

The 400 Free relay crew of Markvardt, Katie Ketter, Cyrah Robinson, and Audrey Cohen positioned twelfth total, swimming a 3:18.36.

On Wednesday, the 200 medley relay crew of Markvardt, Cohen, Robinson and Ketter swam a 1:37.91, good for tenth place, whereas the 800 free relay crew of Catherine Meisner, Morgan Moore, Julia Meisner, and Julia Barto swam a 7:16.93, putting thirteenth.

On Thursday, Markvardt and Cohen superior to the finals of their respective occasions. Markvardt swam within the B last for the 100 fly, ending in fifteenth place with a 52.79, whereas Cohen swam within the C last for the 100 breast, putting twenty third with a 1:01.78. 

In the 200 Freestyle Relay, Markvardt, Ketter, Robinson and Catherine Meisner mixed for a time of 1:30.91, putting twelfth.

On Friday, Markvardt returned to finals competitors for the second-straight day, advancing to the 100 Back B last. Markvardt positioned fifteenth total with a 53.18

Moore additionally superior to the finals, incomes herself a spot within the C Final of the five hundred Free. Moore posted a 4:48.59, good for twentieth total.

Grace Brammer’s efficiency on the 3-meter dive propelled her into the finals. Brammer’s rating earned her 14th total with a rating of 270.20

The Big Ten Championships marked the tip of the season for the ladies’s swimmers. Divers will proceed competitors on the NCAA Division I Diving Zones.

The males’s swimming and diving groups will hit the street subsequent week to Madison, Wis., to compete on the Big Ten Championship. Competition will run from Feb. 25 to Feb. 28.
