8. Spring ahead. Plan your spring garden together. Dig out some seed catalogues or open some gardening websites and imagine the possibilities. All this snow is great for creating healthier soil.

9. Camp out. You don’t have to wait for the spring thaw – or even bedtime. To pitch a tent in the family room, or just a fort out of couch pillows and blankets. Cozy up in there together with a flashlight or two, in your favorite jammies, and read a few good storybooks. Better yet, make up your own adventure tale, with each family member making up a bit of the story. Be sure to record it so you can listen to it again later. Somebody nods off?
