DETROIT — Six swimmers and two divers from the Wayne State University males’s swimming and diving squad will head to Evansville, Ind., subsequent month for the 2026 NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving National Championships on March 10-14 on the Deaconess Aquatic Center.

The six swimmers chosen by the committee have been:

Redshirt Sophomore Gabriel Arias (Bogota, Colombia / Liceo Juan Ramón Jiménez)

fifteenth seed – 200 again – 1:44.99

twenty third seed – 400 IM – 3:54.24

twenty fifth seed – 100 again – 48.45

eleventh seed – 500 free – 4:23.43

14th seed – 1000 free – 9:10.82

Sophomore Olin Charnstrom (Oxford, Mich.)

tenth seed – 100 again – 47.33

twenty second seed – 200 free – 1:36.99

thirty third seed – 500 free – 4:27.98

Sophomore William Debroux (Oro-Medonte, Ont. / ÉSC Nouvelle-Alliance)

Freshman Kadem Goksu Erdagli (Ankara, Turkey / Nazmi Arikan Science School)

Some mixture of these six may also compete in every of the 5 relays — 200 free relay, 400 free relay, 800 free relay, 200 medley relay, and 400 medley relay.

In addition, juniors Max Wasiniak (Huron, Ohio) and John Martin (Brownstown, Mich. / Woodhaven) will compete on March tenth within the NCAA Diving pre-qualifications.  Each diver will do six dives on every board with the highest eight on every board mechanically qualifying for the Championships.  A most of 18 divers will compete on every board (Wednesday – males’s one-meter; and Friday – males’s three-meter).
