Christie and LaRosa Swim Program Top 10 Instances on Day Three of Swim and Dive MAC Championships

AKRON, Ohio – (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University swim and dive applications noticed Marlee Christie and Nina LaRosa swim program high 10 instances within the 200y freestyle relay (50y freestyle leadoff in 22.83) and 100y breaststroke finals (1:01.25), respectively, on the third day of the 2026 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Championships, hosted by the University of Akron, on the Oliver J. Ocasek Natatorium in Akron, Ohio, on Friday, Feb. 27.

Eastern is in sixth place with 180 factors because the Eagles earned seven private finest marks and 60 factors on the third day of motion.

How it Happened: Day Three

Four swimmers earned their spots within the finals with high 16 finishes within the prelims session. Tristen Mina (Santa Clara, Calif./The King’s Academy) earned her spot within the 100y butterfly finals with a prelim time of 54.96, whereas LaRosa (Bay Village, Ohio/Bay) completed sixth within the 100y breaststroke in 1:01.90 to qualify for the finals. Both Azra Umut (Istanbul, Turkey/Fernerbahce School) and Emma Littrell (Taylor Mill, Ky./St. Henry District) swam qualifying instances within the 200y freestyle, as Umut completed in 1:50.16, and Littrell adopted in 1:50.57.

In the three meter diving prelims, Rose Kendrick (Geneva, N.Y./Geneva) and Aisling Gutierrez (New Kent, Va./New Kent) each certified for the A closing with scores of 272.35 factors and 264.20 factors, respectively. Megan Lupa (Campden, Ontario/West Niagara Secondary) earned a spot within the B closing with 229.50 factors.

The finals session was highlighted by LaRosa’s fourth place end within the 100y breaststroke, as she swam a private finest time of 1:01.25, enhancing her program No. 3 mark. Littrell swam a private finest 1:50.00 within the 200y freestyle, ending twelfth. Mina completed the 100y butterfly closing in seventh, touching the wall in 55.05.

The 200y freestyle relay workforce of Christie (Seminole, Fla./Seminole), Abbey Clarke (Caledon, Ont./Robert F. Hall), Littrell, and Lucy Noble (Flagler Beach, Fla./Flagler Palm Coast), completed sixth in 1:31.64.
