Section 4 opponents in NYS boys swimming & diving meet in Ithaca

• Maine-Endwell, coming off its fifteenth straight sectional title, leads the Section 4 contingent.
• Swimmers and divers from Corning, Union-Endicott, Horseheads, and Ithaca can even take part.

Athletes from 5 Section 4 faculties will be a part of the remainder of the state in competing on the New York state boys swimming and diving championships at Ithaca College.

The two-day meet on the Kelsey Partridge Bird Natatorium begins at 10 a.m. Friday, March 6 with swim prelims. The diving session begins at 1:30 p.m. Friday and runs by means of completion.

Saturday’s swimming finals start at 10 a.m.

Section 4 swimmers and divers from Maine-Endwell, Corning, Union-Endicott, Horseheads, and Ithaca will compete.

The meet contains general Federation champions, together with titles and medals restricted to members of the NYSPHSAA. Along with the NYSPHSAA, Federation outcomes embody the Catholic High School Athletic Association and New York City’s Public Schools Athletic League.

M-E leads Section 4 into state meet

Maine-Endwell is coming off a fifteenth consecutive Section 4 title with its victory on the Class B championships Feb. 14. The Spartans have seven athletes competing this weekend and are represented in all three relays.

M-E’s Cameron Little and Francisco Shattuck will compete in 1-meter diving. Little is the eighth seed with a prime rating of 539 and Shattuck’s greatest rating of 497.90 ranks seventeenth.

Maine-Endwell’s 400 relay contains Billy Underwood, Joseph Testani, Martino Shattuck, Strati Anastos. They are seeded fifth with a prime time of three:12.94.

M-E’s 200-yard medley relay contains Anastos, Martino Shattuck, Joseph Testani, Underwood. They are seeded ninth (1:36.6).

The 200 freestyle relay options Anastos, Joseph Testani, Nicholas Testani, Underwood. They are seeded twelfth (1:28.17).

Anastos is seeded thirteenth within the 100 freestyle (47.22). Other particular person entrants for the Spartans are Underwood within the 50 freestyle (thirty fifth seed in 21.92) and Joseph Testani within the 50 freestyle (forty fourth seed in 22.05).
