Hawkeyes qualify 5 to NCAA Zone Diving Championships – Iowa Hawkeyes Athletics

IOWA CITY, Iowa – University of Iowa diving qualified five student-athletes for the NCAA Zone D Diving Championships on March 9-11. The meet will take place at the Student Recreation Natatorium on the Texas A&M University Campus. 
 
Seniors Geneva Pauly and Lainey Woodward, sophomore Stephanie Avram, and freshmen Zita Bernatsky and Kamila Swanson will compete for Iowa with their qualifying scores from the season. 
 
Bernatsky and Pauly will compete in all three dives, while Woodward will compete off both springboards. Avram will compete off the one-meter and platform and Swanson will compete from the three-meter. 
 
Pauly returns for her fourth consecutive year, while Woodward is attending the third zone diving meet of her career. Avram has qualified in back-to-back seasons. Competition begins at noon each day in College Station.
 
To advance through the prelim round, divers must place in the top 18. After the finals, the top 11 divers from the one-meter and platform are eligible for the NCAA Championships. The top 10 divers from the three-meter springboard will advance.
