Atlantic Highlands resident Richard Huff presents first solo pictures exhibit, ‘Street Life’

ATLANTIC HIGHLANDS — Atlantic Highlands resident Richard Huff will current his first solo pictures exhibit on the Monmouth Arts ArtSpace in Red Bank throughout March and April. This exhibit incorporates a assortment of Huff’s latest black-and-white road pictures.

Street Life
A photographer frames a mannequin as one other photographer frames them in return. A person appears to be like up from his plate to fulfill the digital camera’s gaze on the road. An older man shares a fleeting look with a younger lady strolling previous, her hand tightly clasped in her mom’s. These are the neglected moments which have captivated Richard Huff since he first picked up a digital camera as a toddler — transient, unguarded, and sometimes sudden fragments of humanity.

Huff has practiced road pictures for many years. The photos in Street Life are latest, black-and-white works that concentrate on the circulate of sunshine and shadow, the presence — or absence — of eye contact between the photographer and the topic, and the emotional texture of life because it unfolds in public areas.

This is life in movement: actual, uncooked, unpredictable, messy, and fleeting. Each {photograph} is a sliver of time, captured ceaselessly, a quiet document that the photographer and topic existed collectively for a fraction of a second.

Huff’s work can be on show from March 6 – April 22. ArtSpace is positioned at 99 Monmouth St. in Red Bank.
