Roemer Qualifies for NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships

SPRINGFIELD – Freshman Kiefer Roemer has formally been introduced as a 2026 NCAA Division I Men’s Swimming and Diving Championships qualifier within the 100-yard breaststroke. He additionally obtained the Missouri Valley Conference Men’s Freshman of the Year award after the Missouri State males’s swimming and diving workforce earned the 2026 MVC title – its twenty second whole convention championship.

“We are very excited for Kiefer and our program to be represented at the NCAA championships. He has been very consistent and locked in from day one so to see him get this opportunity is a great way to wrap up the season,” acknowledged head coach Dave Collins. 

Roemer gained gold within the 100-yard breaststroke through the Missouri Valley Conference Championship with a time of 52.56 that set an MVC report and earned him the NCAA ticket. The time can be the second quickest in class historical past.

Roemer is wanting ahead to the chance, “It’s really exciting to qualify for the NCAA Championships in my first season as a Bear. I’m thankful for the opportunity, and I know it’s not just about me, it’s a credit to the team, the coaches, and the program that helped put me in that position. I’m excited to compete and perform to the best of my ability.”

Roemer will race on day two of the championships on Thursday, March 26 on the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Ga.
