Ladies’s Swim Concludes Competitors on Friday on the NCAA Championships

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — The NMU girls’s swim group wrapped up its competitors from the NCAA championships on Friday.

There have been two athletes competing within the prelims hoping to earn spots into tonight’s finals: junior Carlotta Santi and freshman Evangeline Pierce.

Santi completed seventeenth within the 500 free, narrowly lacking that remaining spot into the comfort finals, adopted by Santi ending twentieth within the 100 again. 

The NCAA championships conclude tomorrow, with prelims beginning at 11 a.m. ET and the finals starting at 6:30 p.m. ET.

How It Happened

Santi opened Friday’s NCAA look for the ‘Cats within the 500 free, swimming in lane two of warmth 4. Sant had a robust first half of the swim, conserving tempo with the leaders in her warmth. The sophomore discovered herself in sixth when the bell rang for the ultimate 50, and that is the place she would keep, posting a time of 5:00.85 to complete thirteenth with yet another warmth to go.
