And, yeah, just excited to be a Bear and what this team can do this year. I mean, I’ve seen some great things over the past season, so just excited to bring my talents here and just be an addition.”

“Usually when people, like, when they get fell on or something in their knee,” Wills said, “they mess up all their ligaments, and people can just go in and repair it, and they get healthy. I had minimal damage to my ligaments. It was more of an alignment issue from where I got fell on. So they had to actually go into my femur and do what was called an osteotomy to kind of correct my alignment.

“So my knee is healthy. It was a matter of just letting that heal and letting my knee get healthy. So it took a little bit longer than just the regular injury, but it’s doing better now.”

Wills mentioned he has confidence within the work he’s achieved to return from the harm.

“At first, you know, once you get surgery, you’re down,” Wills said. “You’re injured. You’re, obviously, not yourself. So you just got to kind of gain that back through working out, through training, knowing that all the work that you put in for the past year is going to pay off. And I’ve been working out to get healthy. So I got great confidence in what I can do. Just got to fine-tune and make sure that my skill set is ready to go. But I’ve put in the work last year, so now it’s just time to, you know, have some fun again.”

Left sort out proved an issue place for Chicago in 2025.

With 40 begins over the earlier three seasons, Braxton Jones opened 2025 at left sort out. But a knee harm landed him on injured reserve.

With one sport of NFL expertise, Theo Benedet took over for the subsequent six video games earlier than sustaining a quadriceps harm.

Second-round rookie Ozzy Trapilo began the subsequent six video games at left sort out. Benedet got here again for the regular-season finale, with Trapilo returning for Chicago’s first-round playoff sport.

After Trapilo suffered a ruptured patellar tendon within the 31-27 victory over the Green Bay Packers, the Bears went with All-Pro guard Joe Thuney at left sort out within the second spherical, the place Chicago’s season led to a 20-17 additional time loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

Jones, Benedet and Trapilo stay on the Bears’ roster as left-tackle candidates.

“Create competition,” Chicago normal supervisor Ryan Poles said on Friday concerning the staff’s plan at left sort out. “There’s kind of a lot going on at the left-tackle position. You got guys that have played the position this year in terms of Theo. Braxton, you know, had a crack at it early, was dealing with some things. I’d like to see him get back healthy to compete for that spot. And with Jedrick, if you go back to early in his career before the injury, playing at a really high level.

“He’s a guy that we want (offensive-line coach) Dan (Roushar) and (assistant offensive-line coach) Kyle (Devan) to lean into. I think we have phenomenal offensive-line coaches. Two really good ones that do a fantastic job developing players. So they’re going to lean into Jedrick, spend time with him. We think there’s a connection there between our coaches and him. He’s willing to put in the work. We have an unbelievable performance staff that’s going to help him get his body right so he can compete at a high level. And at the end of the day, like any position, we want competition. We want guys to rise to the level, and, at some point, when we get to September, someone’s going to take that job. And I’m excited to see how that works out.”
