S&D’s McNamara to Signify Team USA at 2026 FISU America Games

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall University Swimming and Diving sophomore Lauren McNamara has been chosen to symbolize Team USA on the 2026 FISU America Games in Lima, Peru, this July 20 by August 1.

“For many Olympic sport athletes, it is their dream to represent their country at the international level,” Herd Swimming and Diving Head Coach Lauren McNamara mentioned. “We tell our women that you can accomplish anything you are willing to work for in our program, and it can be done here at Marshall. The staff and team couldn’t be more proud of Lauren and the opportunity she has earned to represent Team USA in Peru this summer.”

She will be part of a proficient group of collegiate athletes representing the United States of America on the worldwide stage. Based on her Long Course meter performances at US Open this December and the general group composition, she is going to compete on the Games within the 100 and 200 Butterfly.

“Being selected as an athlete to represent the United States is a such an honor and something I didn’t know was a possibility,” McNamara mentioned. “I want to thank Coach Ian for nominating me, for believing in me, for preparing me for the opportunity of a lifetime.”
