Gaming-style cybersecurity competitors supplied to college students | Information, Sports activities, Jobs

BISMARCK — High faculty college students who get pleasure from gaming, puzzles, coding, or exploring expertise behind the scenes will quickly have a brand new enviornment to check their abilities.

The University of Mary will host its inaugural CyberConnect CTF (Capture the Flag) cybersecurity competitors on April 14, inviting college students in grades 9-12 to compete in a fast-paced, gaming-style setting whereas studying about careers within the quickly rising cybersecurity subject. Hosted by the Gary Tharaldson School of Business, the occasion runs from 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Chick’s Place within the Lumen Vitae University Center on the University of Mary campus. Sign-in begins at 8:30 a.m.

Students might register both as a group of 4 or individually. Those and not using a group will likely be positioned on one by occasion workers. Participation is free, lunch is supplied, and the highest groups compete for money prizes of $2,000 for first place, $1,000 for second, and $500 for third.
