STANFORD, Calif. – Torri Huske was named the Division I Women’s Swimmer of the Year, as announced by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) on Tuesday morning.

Huske becomes the eighth CSCAA Swimmer of the Year honoree in program history, joining Ella Eastin (2018), Julia Smit (2010), Tara Kirk (2004), Misty Hyman (1998), Janel Jorgensen (1993), Summer Sanders (1992), and Janet Evans (1990).

The award follows a historic NCAA Championship performance from Huske, in which she swept three individual national titles in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, and 100 butterfly, and added four additional All-America honors in the relay events.

Huske’s performances in the 50 and 100 freestyle shattered program records, as the Arlington, Va., native became the second-fastest woman of all-time in both events.

One of the most decorated student-athletes in program history, Huske is just the fourth Stanford swimmer to earn the maximum of 28 career All-America selections, following Hyman, Smit, and Catherine Fox. She finishes her career with five NCAA titles and seven program records.

Stanford is coming off a national runner-up finish at the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships for the second consecutive season, securing the best finish under a first-year head coach since 1980 in Paul A. Violich Director of Women’s Swimming Chris Lindauer’s debut season.
