An 11-year-old photographer has taken the highest prize within the RSPCA Young Photographer Award, successful over the general public with a hanging picture of a canine stranded on a rock – as a result of regardless of his love for the seashore, the Spaniel cross cannot swim.
Evie Watt, from Aberdeenshire in Scotland, secured 31% of the general public votes along with her picture Water reflections, exhibiting her buddy’s canine, Monty, paused on a stone above shallow water, his reflection clearly seen beneath.

Inspired by RSPCA’s annual competitors, Evie solely began images a 12 months in the past. Yet, with this picture, she beat 14 shortlisted entires submitted by younger photographers throughout the UK.

“This picture melted the hearts of the general public and I can see why – it captures the second of stability between Monty’s inquisitive nature and his want to play within the water,” says Andrew Forsyth, RSPCA photographer and awards judge.
“The large framing reveals off the beautiful seashore location, full together with his reflection and the nice and cozy sunshine. This is a well-deserved winner!”

Evie explains about her award-winning image: “It’s humorous as a result of Monty loves the seashore and the water however he truly cannot swim – he’d been paddling after which jumped up onto this rock and received caught.
“But I needed to cease and take this picture shortly earlier than wading in to assist him!
“I just loved the lighting and Monty’s reflection on the water. It’s a little beach in a fishing village near where we live and it’s one of our favourite places in the nice weather.
“It feels actually thrilling to win, I by no means anticipated it – and now I am unable to wait to enter the RSPCA Young Photographer Awards later this 12 months.”
