Beginning Quickly: Photography Residency Programme 2026

The EU Delegation is happy to current the programme of the upcoming Photography Residency happening in Amman from 17 to 23 April, organised in partnership with the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts and underneath the inventive path of photographer and artist Tariq Dajani.

The residency will deliver collectively 15 photographers from Europe and Jordan to discover the theme “People, Land, Memories.” Photographers from Cyprus, Greece, France, Spain, and Slovenia will be a part of ten Jordanian photographers for every week of inventive alternate, discovery, and collaboration. During this time, members will discover Amman and surrounding areas, sharing views and capturing tales that replicate Jordan’s landscapes, communities, and lived experiences.

OPEN LENS – Residency Programme

In addition to their artistic work, a collection of night workshops and classes open to the general public will happen as a part of the OPEN LENS – Residency Programme, designed to encourage dialogue between photographers, cultural professionals, and pictures fanatics.

  Visual Storytelling: Between Photography and Cinema with Amjad Al Rasheed, author and director.
• Tuesday 21 & Wednesday 22 April | 19:00 – 21:00
  Talk with Resident Photographers – Meet the artists and find out about their artistic journeys and experiences throughout the residency.

Exhibition Opening

The residency will conclude with an exhibition showcasing the works created throughout the week. The opening will happen on Thursday 23 April at 20:30 on the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts (Building 1, third Floor).
The exhibition will stay open to the general public for two weeks.
