This session of Photobook Club is hosted by Luis Juárez, editor, curator, cultural practitioner, and director of BALAM Magazine.

The Photobook Club takes place within the ICP library on the final Saturday of every month. This occasion is free to attend with RSVP.

 

About Luis Juárez

 

Luis Juárez (1991, HN/AR) is an editor, curator, and cultural practitioner working within the area of pictures, at present based mostly between New York and Buenos Aires. He develops inventive tasks and produces books, magazines, exhibitions, and artwork gala’s. He is the editor and founding father of Balam, the primary and solely queer journal devoted to modern pictures in Latin America, and the founding father of MIGRA, the Buenos Aires Art Book Fair. Juárez is a member of the Archivo de la Memoria Trans Argentina (Argentina Trans Memory Archive), an area devoted to the preservation, development, and vindication of trans reminiscence. His observe is guided by a distinctly queer imaginative and prescient, dedicated to constructing networks and alliances that strengthen and broaden the visibility of dissidence communities. He has collaborated with varied establishments, museums, and tasks worldwide, together with Printed Matter, MoMA, Paris Ass Book Fair, Museum Folkwang, Instituto Moreira Salles, Foam Magazine, Dashwood Projects, Fotomuseum Winterthur, 1000 Words Magazine, Prince Claus Fund, Getxophoto Festival, Sprint Milano and plenty of extra. He is at present pursuing an M.A. in Curatorial Studies at Bard College, New York.

About BALAM
Balam is an impartial modern queer pictures journal, the primary and solely certainly one of its sort in Latin America. About ICP Library
