Viral on-line ‘NeeDoh’ problem leaves Cleveland little one with extreme burns

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A pattern meant for enjoyable has left a 10-year-old Cleveland lady in ache.

She has second diploma burns on her fingers and fingers, and all of it stems from “The Microwave NeeDoh TikTok Challenge.”

“This kid had second degree burns, but it could have been so much worse with burns to face and hands,” stated John Kearns from the Cleveland Fire Department.

The video was shared by the younger lady’s mother.

The mom stated her daughter was placing a ‘NeeDoh’ toy within the microwave to make it softer, unaware that it will burn her as a part of the viral on-line problem.

“Anything with TikTok or social media, parents need to watch out for things like that. The needoh says on the packaging don’t put it in the microwave,” stated Kearns.

In March, the Ohio School Safety Center put out a warning saying the problem can result in fires, burn accidents and injury tools.

19 News talked with folks with youngsters and younger members of the family.

“Watch what your kids are doing,” stated Christine Eckert.

Do not microwave the toy, observe the producer’s directions, and educate youngsters concerning the potential risks of the pattern.

“My niece is only 4 right now, but social media is only going to grow and grow by the time she gets to that age, so I do have concerns about that being online,” stated Mia Basit-Hightower.
