Seven Swimming Scholar-Athletes Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Swarthmore College males’s and ladies’s swimming groups mixed for seven alternatives to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
 
Danny Castle, Dylan Herink, Dylan Ling, and Levi Tipton represented the Garnet males whereas Maya Ambardekar, Genine Collins, and Norah Rutkowski have been chosen from the ladies’s squad. It was the second consecutive honor for each Castle and Collins.
 
To be eligible for Academic All-District accolades, student-athletes have to be no less than a sophomore academically and athletically, and have a cumulative GPA of three.50 or higher. In addition, they needed to compete in 75 p.c of competitions, end top-eight at a convention meet, or take part in a nationwide championship. The Academic All-District Team is a part of the Academic All-America program, which is the longest operating and premier award for athletic and tutorial success throughout school sports activities.
 
Castle and Tipton have been each on three All-America relays on the NCAA Championships. Castle picked up 4 medals on the Centennial Championships whereas Tipton earned two. Herink and Ling every grabbed one medal on the convention meet.
 
Collins was a two-time nationwide runner-up and six-time All-American at this 12 months’s NCAA Championships. She additionally garnered six medals on the Centennial Championships. Ambardekar and Rutkowski have been each on a pair of All-America relays on the nationwide championships. Rutkowski was a four-time convention medalist whereas Ambardekar earned three medals.
