Hunger Games Sunrise on the Reaping Trailer: Joseph Zada’s Haymitch

Joseph Zada as Haymitch Abernathy should battle to save lots of his life on the Second Quarter Quell in a brand new trailer for Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping franchise instalment from Lionsgate, which dropped on Monday.

“I’m sick of living in fear. Just surviving. We’re not animals to be killed for their entertainment,” Abernathy declares at one level within the teaser (under). The ebook Sunrise on the Reaping takes place in Panem on the morning of the reaping for the fiftieth Hunger Games, 24 years earlier than the occasions in The Hunger Games, the primary novel that revealed in 2008. 

But Ralph Fiennes as President Coriolanus Snow has different designs for Abernathy. “If you disobey me, we shall open the bloodbath with the longest, most drawn out death your people have ever seen,” Snow says in a voiceover as Abernathy is hoisted into the world for battle.

Among the opposite castmembers featured within the trailer is Elle Fanning as Effie Trinket, Kieran Culkin as Caesar Flickerman, Jesse Plemons as Plutarch Heavensbee, Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Beetee Latier, Ralph Fiennes as President Coriolanus Snow, Lili Taylor as Mags Flanagan and Maya Hawke as Wiress.

Francis Lawrence helms the film from a script by Billy Ray that adapts creator Suzanne Collins’ novel. The movie hits theaters Nov. 20 as the newest installment within the franchise that launched with the preliminary Jennifer Lawrence-led The Hunger Games in 2012.

Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson produce Sunrise on the Reaping for Color Force, whereas Cameron MacConomy government produces. The new characteristic is a sequel to 2023’s The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, which starred Rachel Zegler, Tom Blyth and Hunter Schafer.
