In the final week of the regular season, Arizona State went on the road and defeated both BYU and Utah, improving its conference record to 11-2. With their victory over the Utes, the Sun Devils clinched a share of the regular season title as Big 12 champions, the first in program history.
The Sun Devils defeated the Cougars on Thursday, 4-2, with sophomore Zlata Bartanusz securing the win for ASU. On Saturday in the regular season finale, the Sun Devils swept the Utes, 4-0. Bartanusz helped clinch the win for the second straight match, winning in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.

No. 2/11 Arizona State (19-4)
- A victory on Thursday would be the Sun Devils’ 10th straight win, the longest since March 5 – April 8, 2016.
- With a win on Thursday, it would be ASU’s 20th win of the season and the most since 2001.
- To add, ASU is 9-1 when they win a singles match from the No. 4 spot and 1-3 when they drop a point from the No. 4 position in the lineup.
- Emlija Tverijonaite is one win away from becoming the 19th Sun Devil all time to reach 75+ career singles wins and carries a 74-26 career record, winning 74 percent of singles matches as a Sun Devil.
- Ovrootsky and Tverijonaite lead the team with 30 wins in singles this season, which is tied for fifth most in a season by a Sun Devil. With one win in singles this weekend, both would enter into a tie for third all time with Allison Bradshaw (1999) and Kori Davidson (1994) with 31 wins in a season.
- Ovrootsky became the seventh Sun Devil to reach 30+ singles wins in a season. This spring, both Ovrootsky and Tverijonaite have combined for a 32-4 record in singles.
- Ovrootsky leads the team with 18 wins this dual season, including a perfect 13-0 mark from the No. 3 position. She has won 38 of her last 41 sets since January 17.
- ASU is 13-2 this season when Tverijonaite wins from the No. 1 spot.
- The Sun Devils are 14-0 this spring when they win the doubles point.
- Sophomore Aiya Nupbay has won six-straight singles matches entering the weekend, all earning victories in straight sets. She clinched the win against Iowa State last Sunday.
- In doubles, Ovrootsky and sophomore Lily Taylor are on a three-match winning streak heading into the Big 12 Tournament.
- The Sun Devils have six wins this season when they lose the doubles point.
Opponent outlook:
No. 7/41 Houston (17-5)
- Houston has two players with only one loss each this spring: Sophie Schouten (16-1) and Valeriia Krokhotina (14-1).
- Valeriia Krokhotina and Iva Sepa are currently on a four-match winning streak as a doubles pair.
- The Cougars best doubles pair, Chems Doha Zeghlouli and Sophie Schouten, currently hold a 13-5 record this spring.
- Houston ended the regular season on a four-match win streak and have a 13-win imrpovement compared to the 2025 season.
- ASU defeated Houston 4-0 in their last meeting back on March 6th, 2026 at Whiteman Tennis Center, improving to 3-0 all time against the Cougars.
No. 10/31 Texas Tech (14-9)
- The Sun Devils have faced off against the Red Raiders twice this season on Feb. 20, and April 3, 2026, resulting in a pair of 4-1 victories for the Sun Devils. If the two teams face off again this week, it would be the first time ASU plays the same team three times since facing UCLA in 2009.
- Ella Brownback is Texas Tech’s most experienced singles player this season, with a record of 16-15
- Kate Dmitrichenko and Hailey Murphy currently hold a successful doubles record of 20-3 this season and have won eight-straight matches with a 9-1 record in conference play.
