Focus on Photography exhibit honors artists at April 10 reception

The Coliseum Museum opened its third annual Focus on Photography Art Exhibit April 10 with an awards reception, in keeping with a neighborhood announcement.

The exhibit, which is able to run by May 16, options 59 works by 29 artists, showcasing a wide range of photographic mediums, together with digital, movie, blended and distinctive processes.

Grand Detour artist wins prime honor

Glenn Bodish of Grand Detour obtained the Best of Show award for his piece, “Pakistani Elder Making Lassi.” Other winners embody Bob Cholke of Rockford, who gained first place for “Paint by Numbers”; Stephonie A. Schmitz of Dubuque, Iowa, who took second place for “Split Rock Lighthouse at Dusk”; and Steve Toole of Ashton, who positioned third with “Food Truck Door Dash”.

Honorable mentions had been awarded to Joseph Virbikis of Washington for “Lake view at the Milwaukee Art Museum” and Wolf Koch of Sterling for “Organ Mountain Sunset, Las Cruces, NM.”

The exhibit was judged by Danielle Koenig. The public is invited to view the exhibit and vote for his or her favourite paintings. The People’s Choice winner might be introduced on the finish of the exhibit.
