CLAREMONT, Calif. — Three present and former Sagehen swim and dive student-athletes have been introduced as NCAA Winter Postgraduate Scholarship winners. 
 
Sabrina Wang, Emmie Appl and Larry Yu have been amongst 42 winter sport student-athletes throughout all three NCAA divisions to obtain $10,000 as a part of the affiliation’s Postgraduate Scholarship program. These student-athletes have been deemed to have demonstrated excellent tutorial achievements, athletic excellence and management inside their communities. 
 
Established in 1964, the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship program promotes and encourages graduate training by recognizing the Association’s most completed student-athletes. The program evaluates candidates on their athletic and tutorial achievements, campus involvement, group service and management. An equitable choice course of ensures that each one nominees, no matter sport, division, gender or race, are thought-about pretty.
 
Wang, a senior in 2025-26, competed within the NCAA Championships this season the place she was part of the Sagehens’ fourth place 200 free relay staff. She additionally completed third on the SCIAC Championships within the 100 fly, fifth within the 50 free and sixth within the 100 free. 
 
Appl graduated in 2025 when she gained the 200 breaststroke on the SCIAC Championships and completed second within the 200 IM and 400 IM. She additionally positioned thirteenth within the 200 breaststroke on the NCAA Championships final season and completed her profession as this system file holder within the 200 IM and 400 IM. 
 
Yu competed at Pomona-Pitzer from 2021-2024 the place he earned SCIAC Athlete of the Year honors in 2023 and at present holds program data within the 500 free, 100 IM, 100 again, 50 again, 200 breaststroke, 200 IM and 400 IM.
