Four New Hampshire photographers will show their work at Two Villages Art Society in an exhibit titled “Boundless: Expansive Views of Land and Imagination.” The present opens on the gallery in Contoocook on May 2, with a gap reception from 12-2 p.m.
The exhibitors are William Balsam (Warner), Tom McHugh (New London), Lindsay Holmes
(New London), and Jay Fitzpatrick (Andover).
“Photography is a language that weaves a tapestry of light, tones, and color. At its best,
photography reveals subtle differences in the warp and weft of the tapestry,” mentioned Balsam. “The exhibit is not only visually striking, but may also reveal a hidden world just beneath the surface of what we perceive.”
Balsam is a retired geology professor who makes use of images to doc the connection
between large-scale landscapes and the detailed texture of rocks and fossils. The sweeping
landscapes of the Southwest have been favourite topics. He now focuses on lakes, woodlands, and the Maine coast.
Jay Fitzpatrick, a former newspaper photographer, is impressed by photographers together with Ansel Adams and Joe McNally. His landscapes transcend mere topics, providing a glimpse into realms past the senses, whereas his compositions and vibrant colours elevate every picture to a murals.
Lindsay Holmes is an expert photographer and proprietor of Great Island Photography LLC. Her work has appeared in publications together with New Hampshire Home Magazine and Vineyard Living Magazine, and acquired an honorable point out from the Photographic Society of America.
Tom McHugh has been making images since 1968, as an expert and an newbie. His work has been displayed regionally in juried displays and appeared in Go Westerly Magazine, Block Island Magazine, and different publications.
The opening reception is free and open to the general public, providing an opportunity to satisfy the photographers and revel in reside music by singer-songwriter Kat Ivey, in addition to mild refreshments. The exhibition ends on May 30.
The gallery is free and open to the general public at 846 Main Street in Contoocook. Regular gallery hours throughout displays are 12-4 p.m. Thursday-Sunday. Up-to-date details about the schedule, artists, and occasions on the gallery:
