Marsicek named CSC Academic All-American

Greenwood, Ind. – After touchdown All-American honors within the 200 again at NCAA Nationals and a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District nod, sophomore Amelia Marsicek (Centennial. Col./Regis Jesuit) added to her trophy case as she landed CSC Second Team Academic All-American accolades for her efforts within the pool and within the classroom.

Marsicek is the primary Lewis University girls’s swimmer to earn CSC Academic All-American accolades in program historical past. The Centennial, Colorado, native boasts a 3.93 GPA whereas majoring in aviation flight know-how. Withing the Great Lakes Valley Conference, she joins Celina Schmidt (UIndy) and Maria Fe Munoz (Drury) as the one three feminine swimmers to earn All-American distinction. Within everything of Division II girls’s swimming, Marsicek is only one of 24 Division II girls’s swimmers to earn CSC Academic All-American accolades. 

“I am extremely proud of Amelia for achieving this accomplishment” head males’s and ladies’s swimming coach Ian Disteldorf stated. “This is one of the many accolades that showcase her determination and hard work all year long not only in the pool but the classroom. She is a pleasure to coach and a great representation of what it means to be an Academic All-American.” 

In the pool, Marsicek had a season to recollect as she completed in fourth place on the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championship 200 again A-Final, setting a faculty file along with her 1:58.33 time. Earlier within the weekend at nationals, she earned a 14th place end within the 100 again, posting a program file time of 55.58. At the 2026 Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Swimming and Diving Championships, the Colorado native positioned third within the 200 again (2:00.68) A-Final to earn All-GLVC honors. Marsicek additionally set a then Lewis file within the 100 again with a 55.92 time on the GLVC Swimming and Diving Championships.

Marsicek is the primary Lewis University athlete throughout the 2025-26 athletic season to earn CSC Academic All-American honors. She is the primary member of the Flyers to earn the glory since Mikey Kocen (Baseball) garnered the glory on the finish of the 2024-25 athletic season.
