Solid for Fun Home revival confirmed

The Royal Exchange Theatre has introduced casting for its regional premiere of Fun Home, which is able to run from 3 July to 1 August 2026.

The manufacturing marks the northern debut of the musical, with music by Jeanine Tesori and e-book and lyrics by Lisa Kron, and is directed by former creative director Sarah Frankcom. The piece relies on the graphic novel by Alison Bechdel, which celebrates its twentieth anniversary this 12 months.

The musical follows Alison Bechdel as she displays on her upbringing in a family-run funeral house, her sexual awakening, and her makes an attempt to grasp her father and the complexities inside her household.

Jodie McNee takes on the position of Alison, joined by Nigel Harman as Bruce Bechdel. Alice Audrey O’Hanlon will play Medium Alison, whereas the position of Small Alison shall be shared by Lillie Babb, Felicity LJ Moore and Harriet O’Shea. Natasha Cottriall seems as Joan, with Alex Young as Helen Bechdel. Lucca Chadwick-Patel completes the principal forged as Roy, Bobby, Mark and Pete.

The position of John shall be alternated by Reggie Kempson, Finley Litchfield and Reuben Shepherd, whereas Christian shall be performed by Arthur Lyons, Morris McKinley and Theo Wake. Jennifer Caldwell and Alfie Richards be a part of as offstage covers.

The artistic group consists of choreographer and intimacy director Jenni Jackson, music supervisor Matthew Malone, designer Peter Butler, lighting designer Bethany Gupwell, sound designer Tony Gayle, affiliate director Emma Baggott and casting director Natalie Gallacher.

Fun Home shall be staged within the Royal Exchange’s in-the-round auditorium.
