Since buying its first {photograph} in 1973 and creating its pictures division in 1993, the museum has regularly labored to increase its assortment of pictures, remodeling it into one which showcases the historical past of the medium whereas mirroring the tradition and time through which the works have been made. Culminating these years of strategic work, and signaling the long run path for the division’s acquisitions, this exhibition will embody some works on view for the primary time on the museum. New Acquisitions: Photography will spotlight the extraordinary breadth of pictures the establishment owns and rejoice how crafting a set is an artwork type in and of itself.
