Pope John Paul II senior Eric Ring comes from a swimming household.

They are a storied program in Division II, and since joining D-II, they have won the most swimming and diving national championships of any team. It was just a school I wanted to be a part of.”

As a senior, Ring received the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1 minute, 39.41 seconds, incomes an All-America consideration on the Division IV state meet. He completed first within the 500 freestyle (4:34.35) en path to Most Outstanding Swimmer honors. He additionally swam on the first-place 200-medley relay (1:45.16) and 400-freestyle relay (3:27.47) groups.

“It’s definitely a weight off my back because obviously, I’m a little late,” Ring mentioned. “The enrollment deadline for many schools is May 1, so I really didn’t know where I was going until the last minute.
