Roads, prepare stations and airports in Japan have been congested Saturday as individuals headed to their hometowns or departed for home and abroad holidays initially of a five-day stretch within the Golden Week holidays.
Japan’s busiest vacation season other than New Year and Obon in the summertime, Golden Week began in late April, with Saturday marking the latter half together with 4 consecutive nationwide holidays.
At JR Tokyo Station, a household from Chiba Prefecture stated they have been planning to journey to Kyoto and Nara prefectures in western Japan.
“I want to feed deer,” Nanami Sotozaki, 4, stated, apparently referring to the crackers vacationers give to roaming deer in Nara.
In Osaka, station employees have been busy guiding clients close to ticket gates at JR Shin-Osaka Station, whereas individuals within the station constructing waited in line to purchase souvenirs.
“I can’t wait to visit TV drama locations with my boyfriend,” Honoka Hamasaki, a 28-year-old resident of the western Japan metropolis, stated as she headed to Yamanashi Prefecture.
According to JR East, sturdy winds and a fallen tree have been disrupting operations on the Yamagata Shinkansen Line between Tokyo and Shinjo Station in Yamagata Prefecture.
