Former Purple Eagle Peter Kennedy Partakes within the U.S. Masters Swimming Short Course Nationals

Niagara University, NY – Peter Kennedy within the U.S. Masters Swimming Short Course Nationals in Greensboro, N.C. broke two of his personal USMS information within the 90-94 age group, going 1:35.51 within the 100 yard again and 44.46 within the 50 yard again. He would have had a 3rd document however was disqualified within the 200 yard again after breaking his outdated document by six seconds. In all, he claimed 4 gold medals at the meet and was proud to showcase them along with his Niagara Swimming shirt. 

Kennedy’s background comes from Ct. State in New England and Eastern High School champion within the 100 again and 150-yard medley relay. In 1953 on the National AAU Outdoor Championships in Indianapolis, he represented the Yale New Haven Swim Club. IN 1953 and 1954 Kennedy gained each the two-mile Bridgeport and the three-mile New Haven Cross Harbor races as he set the document for the two-mile ocean swim of 39:30. 

In 1955 on the National AAU Outdoor Championships, he was the backstroke leg on the profitable 400-meter medley relay with the Yale New Haven Swim Club as his time was the brand new nationwide and world document. 

During his time at Niagara, he competed in backstroke together with the 220 and 440 free occasion free occasions. At Syracuse he gained the 200-yard backstroke New York Championship.
