NCAA swimming and diving, Malone hires Delaney Ferrell as head coach

CANTON — Malone has turned to considered one of its personal to guide its swimming and diving program.

The college has named former Pioneer Delaney Ferrell because the program’s eighth head coach. She beforehand served as an assistant coach at GlenOak High School and was an tutorial assist employees member on the elementary faculty stage.

Ferrell swam at Malone from 2019-24. “Having the opportunity to return to Malone is incredibly meaningful to me as an alumna of the program and the university,” Ferrell stated in an announcement. “My time as a student-athlete at Malone helped to form who I’m each personally and professionally, and I’m past grateful for the possibility to provide again to a program and group that had such a long-lasting influence on my life.

My purpose is to create an surroundings the place athletes really feel supported, challenged and motivated to achieve their full potential within the pool, within the classroom and in life.” Ferrell was a member of the Malone women’s team that finished third in 2020 and fourth in 2021 at the Great Midwest Athletic Conference-Mountain East Conference Championships. Her 200 medley relay team ranks inside the top five in program history. “Delaney possesses a transparent understanding of the college’s mission and the strategic imaginative and prescient for the swimming program,” Malone athletic director Tanya Hockman said in a release issued by the university. “With her expertise as a collegiate athlete and energetic character, she is ready to imagine the duties of head coach.
