At 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, public historian Michael Wm. Doyle will current a Learning Club program on the not too long ago reopened exhibition “Minnesconsin: Dick Lano’s Photography of the Winona Area in the 1970s.” This program can be within the Winona County History Center’s Wanek Hall.
Co-curated with Robert Keiper, the exhibit was sponsored by the WCHS and funded by donations from Dick Lano’s buddies on each banks of the Mississippi River. Lano grew up “east of the hog line” (Mankato Avenue), graduated from Winona Senior High School in 1966, and developed his expertise for images whereas incomes a level in graphic arts at La Crosse’s Western Wisconsin Technical Institute. After working as a graphic designer in a number of Winona industries, Lano operated a studio close to his Bluff Siding residence from 1987 to 2006.
Minnesconsin consists of over 70 of Lano’s images depicting quite a lot of topics.
