Hardt wins 3 occasions in boys swim regional; Douglas takes staff title

The Douglas boys swim staff received the staff title on the 5A-North Regional swimming and diving meet, held May 7-9 on the Moana Springs Aquatic Facility in Reno.

The Tigers earned 339 factors to take the staff title, adopted by McQueen (299), Spanish Springs (264) and Reno (246).

In the 3A-North Regional, Truckee received the boys staff title with 341 factors, adopted by Fallon (221); North Tahoe (208) and Incline (168).

The prime 4 placers per occasion from the Northern League championship meet and the highest 4 placers per occasion from the Southern Region championship meet advance to the Class 5A and Class 3A state championships, set for Friday-Saturday in Las Vegas.

The 2026 Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association lessons 5A and 3A girls and boys state swimming and diving championships are scheduled for Friday, May 15 at UNLV’s Buchanan Natatorium (diving) and Saturday, May 16 at Pavilion Center Pool in Las Vegas (swimming).

Here are a number of the prime boys swimming and diving performers from the Regional meet.

• Jaxon Hardt (Reno, junior): first place within the 200 IM (1:54.17), 100 breast (57.73), and 400 free relay. Helped the Reno boys with a third-place end within the 200 free relay.
• Chase Lum (Galena, junior): first place within the 100 free (47.27) and second place within the 200 free (1:42.34)
• Beckett Lusk (McQueen, freshman): first place within the 100 again (54.18), second place within the 200 free relay, 400 free relay
• Carter Renwick (Reed, junior): first place within the 50 free (21.57), 200 medley relay, and 200 free relay. third place within the 100 free (49.27)
• Preston Hinkle (Douglas, freshman): first place in diving with 346.50 factors.

• In the 3A Regional, Sage Ridge freshman Ashton Brenner received the 100 breast and 200 IM
• Debbie Smith sophomore Tristan Luke received the 100 again and 200 free
• Debbie Smith freshman Chase Callahan received the 100 butterfly
• Truckee sophomore Caleb Edwards win the 50 free
