“Just always make sure you’re with your children in the pool. Even if you’re on deck, don’t be reading a book. Don’t be on your phone. Water safety it takes all of us, including parents, to just keep an eye on the kids, make sure nothing bad happens. Everybody has a part in it and we want everyone to be safe,” Kniceley stated.

She says an essential rule is to not swim alone.

“The biggest thing is just not swimming alone. You never know. Even an experienced swimmer can have an incident, and if you’re alone, then there’s no one there to help,” Kniceley stated.
