Birmingham to open seven public swimming swimming pools for summer time season

The City of Birmingham Park & Recreation Board introduced seven public swimming swimming pools will open for the 2026 summer time season starting Saturday, June 6.

Pools will formally open at midday and stay open by Labor Day weekend.

The following swimming pools will likely be obtainable to the general public this summer time:

• Crestwood Pool
• E.O. Jackson Pool in Fountain Heights
• Maclin Pool
• McAlpine Pool
• Memorial Pool
• ML King Pool
• Roosevelt Pool

“Our public pools are an important community asset, providing a safe space for families to gather, cool off, and enjoy the summer,” stated Birmingham Park & Recreation Director Shonaé Eddins-Bennett. “We look forward to welcoming residents back and providing access to quality recreational experiences across Birmingham.”

Regular working hours will likely be Tuesday by Saturday from midday till 6 p.m.

City officers stated all swimming pools will likely be staffed with licensed lifeguards.

The Park & Recreation Board additionally plans to supply swim classes at choose places all through the summer time as a part of ongoing efforts to develop family-friendly recreation alternatives throughout town.
