Auburn to compete in College Swimming League inaugural season – Auburn Tigers

AUBURN, Ala. – Auburn Swimming and Diving will compete in the inaugural College Swimming League (CSL), the association announced Saturday.

Auburn is the third of the 12 teams that will be competing in the CSL to be announced by the league, joining Virginia and Georgia. 

“We are pumped to join the inaugural season of the CSL,” said head coach Ryan Wochomurka. “We look forward to racing the best teams in the country in such an innovative, exciting and broadcast-ready format. War Eagle!”

The College Swimming League is a revolutionary concept, aiming to transform collegiate swimming through an exciting, fan-centered format. Its inaugural season will include a six-meet regular season followed by a two-meet postseason featuring four teams. Each participating school will compete in two regular-season meets, fielding 14 men and 14 women student-athletes per team.

“Auburn makes this league better just by being in it,” said league CEO Rob Kent. “They’ve got a real tradition in the water and a fanbase that shows up, and we’re glad to have the Tigers in for our first season. Auburn fans are going to have a lot to cheer for.”

The season kicks off in the fall of 2026. Further details, including schedules and the other teams competing, will be released at a later date.

“Ryan is a great coach, but he’s also a great mind to have in the sport,” said Kyle Sockwell, league COO. “He’s a real net positive for the athletes he works with, and he genuinely cares about where swimming is headed as a sport. That’s exactly the kind of voice we want in this league from day one.”
