Thomas C. Sweeny, Sr., 81, of Freeport, handed away Thursday, May 21, 2026, at Rosebrook in Sarver. Thomas was born February 27, 1945, in Natrona Heights, the son of the late Richard G. and Frances (Yetter) Sweeny. Tom retired in 2002 after 38 devoted years as an Overhead and Mobile Grove Crane Operator at Allegheny Ludlum Steel, Brackenridge. He was a life member of the Freeport Volunteer Fire Department the place he held quite a few places of work as much as Assistant Chief. He loved spending time there along with his pals and all 3 of his sons and grandson, Ryan. Tom was additionally a life member on the Freeport Sportsman’s Club the place he had held the workplace of President and devoted his time to educating hunter security. (Missi) Sweeny of Buffalo Township; their mom, Marsha (Hughes) Sweeny, of Natrona Heights; niece Roxanne (Fred) Kleeburg of West Dundee, IL; seven grandchildren, Ryan (Jacqui), Megan (Alec) Varley, Kaiti, Emily, Shane, Hannah, and Eryn; and a pair of nice grandchildren, Josephine and Sabrina.

In addition to his dad and mom, he was preceded in loss of life by his brothers, Leroy and Richard (Betty) Sweeny.

Friends shall be acquired Wednesday, May 27, 2026, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on the Redmond Funeral Home, Inc., 524 High Street, Freeport, the place a funeral service will comply with at 8 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Jeffrey Truscott officiating.

Private interment shall be held in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell.
