Schmidt Promoted to Associate Headvert Coach

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — University of Michigan swimming and diving head coach Matt Bowe introduced Wednesday (May 27) the promotion of Gunnar Schmidt to affiliate head coach.

Schmidt has been with this system since 2023 in an affiliate coach function and has primarily served as coach with the middle-distance group of swimmers. Schmidt has skilled a number of convention and nationwide champions together with Hannah Bellard, Colin Geer, Tyler Ray and Bella Sims.
