Allyson Sweeney – Swimming and Diving Coach – Texas A&M Athletics

Allyson Sweeney, who swam for Texas A&M from 2009-14 and helped the Aggies to a pair of Big 12 Conference titles, returns to Aggieland for her first season as an assistant coach for the A&M Swimming and Diving program.

Sweeney is again at Texas A&M after serving as the pinnacle coach at Georgia Southern from 2022-24. While in Statesboro, Sweeney oversaw all sides of the ladies’s group, together with recruiting, workers and roster administration, budgetary oversight, NCAA compliance, alumni engagement and advertising and marketing. 

Prior to GSU, Sweeney was an assistant coach with concentrate on the endurance-based swimmers for the lads’s and ladies’s groups at North Carolina from 2019-22. She helped the Tar Heel ladies submit a pair of high 15 NCAA finishes and the lads’s group to a high 25 end in 2021. She served collegiate teaching stints at Auburn (2018-19), Florida Southern (2017-18) and Texas A&M (2014-15) and as a membership coach at Lakeland Area Swimming and SwimAtlanta.

“My experiences at Texas A&M University — including my athletic & academic careers — have heavily influenced my personal life’s journey,” Sweeney stated. “Being extended a new opportunity to return — to honor the legacy of former Aggie student-athletes while elevating current and future generations — is a humbling moment.”
