Officers alerting boaters, swimmers of chilly lake, river temperatures

With boating and swimming season ramping up, authorities have a cautionary message about lakes and waterways that will look inviting, however can nonetheless be harmful.

“I’d absolutely, obviously recommend always wearing a life jacket in open water,” he says. “There can be unexpected drop-offs and situations that can arise that you’re not aware of. That’s where having a life jacket can be huge and ultimately save your life.”
