3 rescued from Steamboat Lake after leaving their boat unanchored whereas swimming

Steamboat Lake water rescue says three individuals have been pulled from the water Thursday after they left their ship to swim and the boat drifted out of attain.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office stated the water rescue started at 12:47 p.m. after a 911 name was positioned from Steamboat Lake reporting that a number of individuals had entered the water and weren’t seen.

When deputies arrived, they spoke with a girl who had swum to shore, stating that she and two different ladies had been in a ship and had left the vessel to swim. The wind, reported at 25-30 mph, blew the boat away from them, leaving them stranded within the water.

It was later decided that the boat had not been anchored, inflicting it to float away.
