Discovering Words — Full Disc Aviation

Mental seeds get planted day-after-day. Some sprout into one thing great, whereas others simply die. And some take a very long time to germinate. This is one such story. It’s a narrative a few seed that didn’t wish to develop or evolve. It all started some years in the past at that ordinary place (Golden Age Air Museum), I encountered Tom Martin and Rick Bennett at one of many museum’s annual occasions. 

After getting back from a daybreak patrol, Tom and Rick agreed to permit me to tag alongside within the pink Aeronca (piloted by Eric Lunger) and {photograph} the 2 7/8 scale Nieuport 23 replicas alongside the scenic Blue Mountain Ridge. In his ebook, Biddle describes the painted French panorama that remained untouched by human destruction. I picked two names for my fictional heroes: Thierry Preud’homme and Michel Boutsen. As I watched Errol Flynn grasp the display screen, I remembered a movie from my childhood. Possibly the primary aviation movie I ever watched. A movie with among the greatest aviation sequences recorded on celluloid, the 1966, aviation traditional… “The Blue Max”.

After I watched these movies, I went again to the images I took of Tom and Gerbil. I got here to the belief that movies of yesteryear impressed these images.
